Loyal followers of the pop star are urging that a man who jumped a barricade and touched the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A viral clip reveals the Australian man pushing past camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the performers made its way down a yellow carpet accompanied by fans.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being arrested", though official papers revealed that he was due to appear on Friday morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Disruptions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram feed contains videos of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last year.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is obviously a legal violation," wrote an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Fans Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Safety

Many fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the finale of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said one more response on Instagram.

Several supporters also criticised event staff at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while others requested digital services to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Event Details

In clips shared widely, Grande appeared shocked when she was touched by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.

Hundreds of Singapore supporters had lined up to greet the actors of Wicked

Many of fans had assembled in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore venue, including several who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it began.

The film, to be launched on 21 November, is the follow-up of a dual interpretation of the well-known Broadway and West End show Wicked, which centers on the unlikely friendship between two very different sorceresses.

The show itself is a spin-off of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a light pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and earned ten award recognitions, earning two for best costume and set decoration.
