Jurgen Klopp states coming back to coach Liverpool is plausible in theory.
Jurgen Klopp, who left Anfield in 2024, indicated that returning someday is something that could happen. The 58-year-old, after a transformative near-decade reign that included a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title since 1990, currently occupies roles in a global football capacity for Red Bull and providing guidance with the German Football League.
Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks
The club claimed the league title under Arne Slot, but many fans who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the possibility of his potential comeback. Speaking candidly, he told Steven Bartlett: “I declared I will never coach another team on English soil. Therefore should it be the Reds...yeah. In theory, it could happen.”
“Being 58, which suggests I could make the decision in a few years, who knows. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. Luckily, I don’t have to do that. I'll simply watch what the future brings.”
What Would Lure Him Back?
Questioned regarding which situations must arise to draw him back to management, he revealed he feels no immediate pull for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, I love what I do right now,” he stated. “I don't crave being a coach; I don’t miss standing during downpours for two-and-a-half or three hours; I'm glad to skip media briefings multiple times weekly or constant media duties each week.
“The locker room isn't missed per se, however, dining out with the players talking freely, that’s nice. With many victories thus frequently a very good mood at the club. Remaining with me is Van Dijk's laughter ringing in my ears for example.”
Commending Arne Slot
He commended of the current boss, praising him for the tweaks that won the league in the previous season. They've been defeated four in a row in every contest following significant transfers, yet he dismissed the suggestion that it might signal a decline.
“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker such as Wirtz, doubters will be silenced with negative comments. An outstanding player. The French striker, excellent performer. It’s a really good balanced team. You don’t have to worry over the club, things will improve.”
Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota
He shared movingly on the loss of Diogo Jota, whom he brought in while in charge, and the effect for the team. The forward lost his life in a road accident alongside his brother this past summer.
“How do you replace such an individual? This isn't just regarding the player himself, it’s the guy he was. I can’t imagine the team environment without him in it. Putting it into words is tough on this topic. It was an incredible shock for the entire squad also. No one within the club might employ it to justify results though it's a fact. You walk in a dressing room which he filled completely. Coping with it individually is challenging. Impossible.”
