Football Expert Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run was ended by the Black Cats before the global break, but will the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

My son advised me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
