In a surprising crossover event that breaks conventional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the official release, "A strange encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden rituals and fearsome transformations echo through the shadows." The narrative presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden cult.
The questline focuses on "bizarre tests and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the hostage, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Material
Players who accomplish the mission will receive an unique katana alongside multiple items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
